Position Title: Procurement Assistant Manager
As the Assistant Procurement Manager at Americana Foods, you will play a key role in developing and executing procurement strategies for local purchases of food ingredients and packaging at GFC, overseeing a $5 million spend, 70 SKUs, and 45 suppliers. Your responsibilities will include strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management, ensuring cost efficiency, supply continuity, and quality compliance. Additionally, you will collaborate with senior leadership to drive product development initiatives, identify alternative suppliers, and enhance procurement processes to support business growth and operational excellence.In addition to managing local purchases, you will support operational matters related to the Chicken & seafood category, including quality non-conformance reports (NCRs), supplier payments, and issue resolution. Your role will involve coordinating with internal teams such as Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth operations, mitigate risks, and maintain supplier performance.

Strategic:
- Develop and execute a local sourcing strategy for food ingredients and packaging, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational needs.
- Optimize supplier performance by ensuring timely procurement, compliance with company policies, and adherence to quality standards.
- Drive cost savings and efficiency through strategic negotiations, supplier relationship management, and value-driven sourcing initiatives.
- Enhance purchasing effectiveness by coordinating with Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, and Operations to streamline procurement processes and improve cost structures.
Operational:
- Oversee the execution and management of long-term agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development, providing insights on sourcing options, supplier capabilities, and cost implications.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard alternative suppliers, strengthening supply chain resilience and reducing dependency on single sources.
- Implement and monitor risk management protocols, including supplier audits, compliance checks, and contingency planning to mitigate potential disruptions.
- Support operational matters related to the Chicken category, including quality non-conformance reports (NCRs), supplier payments, and issue resolution, ensuring smooth supply chain operations.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant specialization is a plus.
- CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent procurement certification preferred, demonstrating expertise in procurement best practices.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and contract management.
- Experience with procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., Coupa, Oracle, SAP).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting) and PowerPoint.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or strategic sourcing, with a strong focus on supplier management, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset, able to assess risks and develop proactive solutions.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, and Quality teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Strong attention to detail, agility in dynamic environments, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
